Dont Even Know

Sorry for the delay, guys! I know its been, like.... a week since my last post. Hope you all had a totally awesome thanksgiving!

I spent my thanksgiving with my lovey-dovey Regh, everyone should go check out his awesome blogspot if you havent seen it already. Also over the break, I've been working on this really sick 3D assignment that I just posted on my deviantart. But I'll get to that some other time.

Today I thought I'd take you guys back to my college application process. Hopefully you've all already seen my Parsons challenge images (older post), so now I'll show you a few pieces I submitted to Cooper Union.

part 1 of a 3 part series on horses: graphite

part 3 of my series of horses: watercolor

food chain: colored pencil

As you may have noticed, I chose to leave out the second horse. Believe me, it wasnt very good and not worth putting up. The purpose of the horses was to visually show a beat or rhythm, I did it with horses galloping, the figure of the horses becoming looser as the series progressed. Note that the first horse is much neater and more precise than the third. The food chain piece represents "stasis". If you cant tell, there are three animals in that piece: a fox, an owl, and a rat. Fox eats owl, owl eats rat, you get it. These assignments seem a bit absurd, I actually had to look up the word stasis before I could begin, but tell that to the people at Cooper Union. Anyways, hope you like the pieces!

Vans, Off the Heezay

Unbearably stoked

for

this

post.

This post is the first post starting off a series of posts about the shoes I do. I do all my shoes in sharpie marker, and am always willing to take up new commissions! Without further stalling, lets get right to this shall we?

Harry Potter themed shoes done for my friend Liri. On the side, it says Mischief Managed

Jellyfish shoes for my friend Danielle

Shark week themed shoes for me! Love this pair.

I love doing these shoes, they're always so much fun. My favorite shoes to do are ones with aquatic animals. I'll be sure to make more posts soon! Let me know something you like, something you'd change, or if you're interested in a pair.

Looks Shopped.

Whaaaaat? Another Photoshop post? Well, yeah, kind of. I'm trying to get all of this stuff on here and avoiding making my shoes post because IM JUST SO DANG EXCITED ABOUT IT dont judge meee.

So yeah, lets get right to this. Here are some more photoshop projects spanning from my junior year to my senior year oh high school, I'll try to order them chronologically.

CS4, a maximalist typographic piece. this one may seem really insignificant, and i was considering not putting it up at all, but upon further inspection i realized how much it really deals with basic concepts of color, composition, and typography. I feel that if this piece went overlooked, my 2D teacher would be very displeased.

CS4, interesting textural piece done from some photos I took in Fallsburg, NY.

CS4, also from Fallsburg, NY.

My family has a summer home in Fallsburg, which is about two hours north of where I currently live. Its a really quaint little area, and the bridge featured in the last picture is one of my favorite places to be, really. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed these. I can't wait to get all my Photoshop and Illustrator stuff up so I can get my shoe post to you guys sooner! I really appreciate feedback.

Ways to Waste Your Time!
So, today I think I'm going to focus on a really fantastic and hilarious blog that has been brought to my attention recently. It is featured on Buzznet and if you're a fan of the popular Harry Potter series, you're really going to enjoy this blog. I've been reading it so much its even affected my narrative at the beginning of this post (if you read the blog, you'll know what I mean.) Enjoy! http://markreadsharrypotter.buzznet.com

Digitize Me, Bish

Alright, so I figure, thats enough with the studio-type stuff for now. I think I'm going to move onto some digital art for a bit, yeah? Everyone likes that, right?! I'm pretty stoked about it.
Sooo, I've only used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, but I really like those two programs. I think they, especially the new versions, give you a lot of freedom when it comes to making,....well, whatever you want, really.
The modernist movement of the 20th century proved that technology created an entirely new range of potential when it came to art. Machines made the impossible suddenly seem possible. Oh the opportunities! I think I just got a creativity boner.

Lets start off with Photoshop, shall we?

CS4
CS3, inspired by Sean Scully
CS3, inspired by Rene Magritte

All of these are from 2007-2009, something in that span of time. I'll have more to post later on, more recent stuff for sure. Hope youre looking forward to it as much as I am!

Also, I thought I'd make a new addition to my posts. Having said so, I'd like to introduce you to:

Ways to Waste Your Time!
I thought I'd start off with a popular favorite. If you've never heard of stumbleupon.com, oh boy, prepare not to get any work done, ever.

Mixed Drinks

Happy Day of the Dead to those who celebrate it. Hope you guys had an amazing Halloween! Wanna see my costume?

 hee hee.

Anyways, I thought today would be a good of a time as ever to make a mixed media post! I love mixing media, theres so much potential.

this is conte crayon and construction paper collage, very fall appropriate. 2008!

chalk pastel and charcoal. similar, but still different. this is a transformation piece intended to look like a tattoo coming to life. 2009!

Both of these were done in my junior year of high school. Mixed media is always something fun to work with and experiment with, and it can be really expressive. A lot of contemporary artists mix their media. Hope you liked these, and my costume! Post your Halloween stories!
